Louder & Softer was an audio video moving image installation exhibited at Falmouth University as part of their graduate degree show in 2023. Louder & Softer is an exhibition rooted in non-success and failure as well as being tongue in cheek, the moving images meander through themes of ritualistic dance, sisterhood, departure, farewells and electric senses of arrival without being bound to any geographic location or time. A contemporary visual song of worships and losses, it attempts to build a realm where queerness is slippery and refuses its centre; jilting itself at the alter and playing with both joy and mania.

Louder & Softer brings together moving image, printed matter, sound and performance for film. With non pretentious means, what unfurls around onlookers marks as an attempt to unload the stickiness and complexity of kinship, sisterhood, muse, lover and the queered embodied experience. The allure and seduction roots itself in innocence and purity which attempts to be exempt from despair and objectification. It endeavours on an undertaking to redefine and rework (queered) utopia(s).
